SWEETWATER, Tenn. — The Sweetwater Wildcats (1-7) hosted the undefeated Loudon Redskins (8-0) Friday night for their final home game of the season, but the night belonged to Loudon as they rolled to a 42-0 victory.
The Redskins wasted no time establishing their dominance, putting up 28 points in the first quarter alone. Quarterback Bronson Shrivner opened the scoring with a 47-yard touchdown pass to Eli Kelso. Shrivner followed with a 9-yard rushing touchdown before connecting on a 60-yard pass to Xavier Dills. Bodee Anderson capped the explosive first quarter by intercepting a Wildcat pass and returning it 27 yards for a touchdown.
Loudon continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter when Shrivner found Kelso again for a 47-yard touchdown reception, giving the Redskins a commanding 35-0 lead at halftime.
With a running clock in the second half, the game moved swiftly. The Redskins added one more score in the third quarter, a 36-yard pass from Shrivner to Dills, sealing the 42-0 victory.
For Sweetwater, it was a tough night, especially for the ten seniors playing their final game at King Berrong Stadium, Carter Field. Despite the loss, Wildcat Nation expresses gratitude to these players for their contributions to the program.
Sweetwater's seniors include Silas Brown, Quentin Croft, Jacob Dyer, Landen Gentry, Andrew Hadorn, Gray Hicks, Trent Mizer, Aiden Roberts, Lucas Rockholt, and Lucas Stamey.
The Wildcats have a bye this week before closing out the season with two road games. They will travel to Polk County on October 25th and to Brainerd on November 1st.
